LEWISTON — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery and the attack of an employee at The Vault on Saturday.

Interim Deputy Chief Adam Higgins said in a release that Arthur Bush, 46, of 45 Shawmut St. has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. He was located Monday at Pine and Horton streets, Higgins said.

He also said the Police Department wanted to thank the public for their help in catching Bush.

The high-end wine shop at 84 Lisbon St. was robbed just before 3 p.m. Saturday, while the shop was still open.

The clerk in the shop was “brutally” beaten and hospitalized, according to store owner Keith Tannenbaum. She has since been released from the hospital.

Bush is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.

According to state criminal records, Bush was convicted of misdemeanor criminal mischief in 1987, felony aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs in 2004 and misdemeanor criminal trespass in 2014.
