PARIS — A Norway man pleaded not guilty to assaulting his parents and sexually assaulting a woman from the same town.
Eric Heino entered a not guilty plea in Oxford County Unified Court on Thursday afternoon. Heino has been charged with three felony counts of assault and felony gross sexual assault.
According to a police affidavit, Heino last December repeatedly struck his mother and father on the head when they refused to drive him to get a battery charger. Police said he appeared to be intoxicated.
A woman told police that the day before, Heino had punched her until she passed out and when she awoke he was sexually assaulting her. He ignored her pleas to stop, according to the affidavit.
Heino was arrested on the domestic violence charges in December, which are more severe because Heino was convicted of domestic violence assault in 2010, according to a police complaint. In June, a grand jury handed down the single-count indictment of gross sexual assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court in September.
