Refugee talk at West Parish Congregational 

BETHEL — Adam Lett of Gould Academy will talk about his work with refugees in Lewiston at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at West Parish Congregational Church.

A pot luck supper will precede the talk at 6 p.m., and those attending should bring a dish to share.

CROP Walk materials will be distributed. The walk for ending hunger and poverty will take place at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Common in Bethel.

Summer Gala in Waterford

WATERFORD — The Waterford Library Summer Gala will take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

There will be hors d’oeuvres, wine and music.

Silent auction bidding is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Cost is $3 per person or $5 per couple.

AYS softball tournament Aug. 13

LIVERMORE FALLS — Area Youth Sports for Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls and Fayette will host the One-Pitch Co-Ed softball tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Livermore Falls recreation field.

The team price is $150 with a minimum of four mails and four females and total of eight to 12 people. Proceeds will help AYS purchase new equipment for youth.

The rain date is Saturday, Aug. 20.

ATV Raffle/Ride/Pasta Palooza 

MEXICO — The first ATV Raffle/Ride/Pasta Palooza will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Event is a fundraiser for Honey’s Bunnies Relay for Life team. All-terrain vehicles will park and ride from Mexico Town Hall between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

Participants will travel to Coos Canyon in Byron and back to the Town Hall. Following the ride there will be a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. It is open to the public. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 4 to 12, and free for children younger than 3.

There will be a 50/50 and a raffle basket.

Allies for Autism ATV Poker Ride

WATERFORD — Pulpit Rock Trail Blazah’s ATV Club will be hosting the fifth annual Allies for Autism ATV Poker Ride to benefit Pine Tree Camp in Maine Saturday, Aug. 13, at Pumpkin Patch Park & Ride on Mountain Road.

Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost will be $5 per hand for the Poker ride, and participants may buy as many hands as desired. There will be a 50/50 drawing and Chinese auction, and the winners will be announced at 1 p.m. Music will be performed by The Road Kingz.

Any ATV from another state is legal to ride in this event without registering in Maine as long as they are registered in their home state.
