AUBURN — U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine, will host a town hall forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Central Maine Community College, Kirk Hall, 1250 Turner St.
The event will focus on Operation Community SAFER (Supporting Area Families Enable Recovery), a project to give families support and education about opioid addiction, prevention strategies and local treatment and recovery resources.
Poliquin is a founding member of the Congressional Bipartisan Task Force to Combat the Heroin Epidemic.
Families who have battled through the addictions of loved ones will be at the forum to talk about their experiences. In addition, prevention, treatment, law enforcement and health care leaders will attend to provide information and answer questions.
The public is invited to attend.
