PARIS — My Tempered Soul will host an all-ages benefit rock concert on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Four Seasons Function Center, South Paris.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and close at 8 p.m. Donations will be collected at the door. All proceeds benefit the Wounded Heroes Program of Maine.

Performers will include Arta’sin, Brand New Day, My Tempered Soul, Not Yet Lost, and Interloc.

Ritchie Dan, lead singer of My Tempered Soul, is a 20-year combat veteran with the Army Reserves. He was deployed to Iraq in 2004. Upon returning home, he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

In 2006, Dan’s brother, Sgt. Corey A. Dan, was killed in Iraq. His loss had a profound effect on Ritchie, but with help from programs like the Wounded Heroes Program of Maine, he was able to overcome the tragedy.

The benefit is a way to give back and help provide a means for those who are struggling, Dan said.
