Seniors to meet, plan trips
RUMFORD — The Rumford Seniors will have a barbecue at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, with entertainment by Laura Trenoweth and Friends.
The seniors will host a Christmas trip to the White Mountains in North Conway, New Hampshire from Nov. 28 to 30.
The trip includes two nights accommodations, five meals, train ride, three shows, room and meal taxes, gratuities, bus and driver trip and a Christmas gift.
A $50 deposit will be needed before Aug. 15. Admission will be from $399 to $539.

Historic jail open for Old Home Week
PHILLIPS — Phillips Historical Museum has announced that renovation is now complete on the original town jail thanks to the generous efforts and dedication of the Phillips Historical Society members and Phillips town folks.
Carefully moved from Route 4, re-located to its final resting place at the rear of the museum, painted and re-shingled, the jail is ready for Old Home Week.
Visitors may see the jail and have their photo taken behind bars and check out the exhibits of the museum. The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20; and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.
Curator Jane Stinchfield and volunteers will be on hand to give guided tours.
Hill & Dale Auto Show
CANTON — Bob’s Radiator & Auto Repair will host the second annual Hill & Dale Auto Show will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at 178 Turner St.
There will be food and beverages and music, as well as child-friendly activities.
All motor vehicles, including motorcycles, mopeds, vans and dirt bikes, are encouraged to enter the show.
Prizes will be awarded by public participation votes. Donations will be accepted.
The Weary Club to meet
NORWAY — The friends and members of The Weary Club will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the clubhouse for coffee and a time to catch up on what everyone has been doing this summer.
Madrid Historical Society open house
MADRID — The Madrid Historical Society will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, to showcase the schoolroom display and museum.
The Historical Society is also looking to obtain photos of recreational/hunting camps.

FARMINGTON — TechnOldie Support, where University of Maine at Farmington students aid older adults with navigating the modern electronic world, has expanded course listings to include more than the UMF senior college, Gold Leaf, offering additional sessions to the community.

Concert at Snowshoe Club
RUMFORD — Don Leblanc and Family Reunion will perform for the Snowshoe Club from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the clubhouse on Waldo Street.
