1950 – 2016
AUBURN — Our beloved mother was called home Saturday, Aug. 6. She was full of life, always having been there for her loved ones with a helping hand; the backbone of her family, the glue that kept her family together. Her motto was to “never stop living, brush yourself off, and get back up and keep living.” That’s exactly what she did when she found out that she was battling cancer and never complained.
It feels like yesterday seeing our mom in the kitchen cooking and cleaning; that was her passion. She spread her love around as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always encouraged and helped others be the best they could be. It’s hard to know that her love won’t be present, but it shall always be heartfelt and in our memories.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Vic (Kelly) Eirby of Auburn, Mesha Scott of Mobile Ala., Benita (Craig) Preo of Lewiston, LeCedric (Hanna) Johnson of Greene; three sisters, Evelyn Prince and Gerty Eirby, both of Mobile, Ala., Mamie Jimmerson of Auburn; two brothers, Lee Eirby Jr. of Indiana and Henry Sharp of Columbus, Miss.; two goddaughters, Jamie Starks of Atlanta Ga., and Tomika Robinson of Mobile, Ala.; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four dedicated grandchildren, Micaela (Cameron) Eirby of Seattle, Wash., Tatiyana Johnson of Greene, Shakila Eirby and Demetrius Eirby Sr., both of Lewiston; a host of nieces, nephews, special nieces, Eunice Patterson and Keondra Eirby, both of Mobile, Ala.; adopted daughter, Patricia Amerson of Mobile, Ala.; and dedicated friend, Lois Anderson of Mobile, Ala.
Jettie Johnson was preceded in death by her father, Booker T. Jones; mother, Genevieve King; and a sister, Jannie Wright.
