AUBURN — The annual Summer Keyboard Concert will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Court Street Baptist Church, 129 Court St.

A new arrangement for organ solo of Jack Hayford’s “Majesty” will premiere. The new composition, by Mark Thallander and Bruce Wilkin, is titled “Fanfare and Acclamation on Majesty.”

The piece is among several to be played by Thallander, who was organist at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California, for 18 years. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists. He has performed at many venues, including the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Times Square Church, Carnegie Hall, the Court Street Baptist Church and Lewiston’s Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Thirteen years ago, Thallander lost his left arm in an accident on the Maine Turnpike while vacationing. He has re-arranged music so that he is able to perform successfully at concert level. Thallander, who now splits his time between Palm Springs, California, and Ogunquit, is president of the Mark Thallander Foundation and produces music festivals throughout the U.S. He is the subject of the book “Champions” and was honored in 2004 with The Crystal Cathedral’s annual Life’s Not Fair But God is Good Award.

Also featured at the concert will be Glenda Winkle-Morrow and Kathy Haley.

Winkle-Morrow is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger and music teacher from Missouri who has presented workshops and concerts throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is past president of the Mid-America Performing Arts Association, executive board member of the American Guild of Organists, and council member for the Mark Thallander Foundation. She will play her variations of “Jesus Loves Me,” originally written by William Bradbury, who was born in York 200 years ago.

Haley, celebrating more than 50 years as a church musician, is the choir director/organist at Court Street Baptist Church. After studying music at the University of Southern Maine, she began singing professionally, performing with several southern Maine bands. She was the assistant director for Delta Heart, a nondenominational regional choir, and is the accompanist for the Edward Little High School choral program.

An ice cream social and time of fellowship will conclude the evening.
