AUBURN — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host the fundraising seminar “Go Fish: How to Catch (and Keep) Contributors” with international speaker Nancy Bocskor.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 9, at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch.

Bocskor is a fundraising expert and author of, “Go Fish: How to Catch (and Keep) Contributors,” a step-by-step guide to fundraising. She is internationally sought after for her expertise, which she shares through workshops, lectures and university courses.

Relationship fundraising is cost effective, the return is high, and the results can be immediate. But for it to work, you must understand why people give money. Just as different fish require different bait and equipment, different people need different approaches. This presentation explains relationship fundraising, and how to help each donor move from concern to passion to cash.

This half-day seminar provides practical advice about how to ask for money, organize finance committees, host profitable events, write successful fundraising letters and other best practices for nonprofit fundraisers.

The seminar is aimed at executive directors, development officers, senior and junior fundraisers, nonprofit, association and campaign staff, lobbyists, advocates, PAC and grassroots professionals.
