TUESDAY, Aug. 23

AUBURN — Lewiston-Auburn Complete Streets Committee public meeting to discuss the best ways to improve the communities’ downtown  transportation and recreational infrastructure in ways that encourage walking, biking and other uses. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 5 p.m. in the Community Room on the second floor of Auburn Hall.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 24

AUBURN — Community Farmers Market, 5:30-7:30 p.m., parking lot between Mechanics Row and Main Street, south of the Mechanics Row Garage.

LEWISTON — The Police Department is hosting an outdoor movie night at Simard-Payne Memorial Park. Pre-movie activities start at 6 p.m. followed by the 8:30 p.m. showing of the animated feature”Ice Age.” Bring a chair or a blanket. 

AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band, conducted by Milt Simon, will continue its 35th season at 7 p.m. in Festival Plaza with the program “The Auburn Community Concert Band’s Greatest Hits.” The performance is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the event will move to The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston.

THURSDAY, Aug. 25

AUBURN — New Auburn Community Watch meeting with the Auburn Police, 6:30 p.m. at the Sixth Street Congregational Church, 109 Sixth St.

LEWISTON — Author Adam Hochschild’s talk on his latest book, “Spain in our Hearts: Americans in the Spanish Civil War,” 6:30 p.m., Callahan Hall, Lewiston Public Library. The book is about how 3,000 Americans joined another country’s civil war to help fight off a fascist uprising.

LEWISTON — Special meeting of the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport Board, 7 p.m. in City Hall

FRIDAY, Aug. 26

LEWISTON — Rally for Gary Johnson, Libertarian candidate for president, 6 p.m., The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, Cedar Street.

AUBURN — Red Table Picnic, Festival Plaza on Main Street. Bring your food and refreshments and chairs or use one of the tables provided by the city for an evening picnic.

LEWISTON-AUBURN — Art Walk L/A, 5-8 p.m., downtown Lewiston and downtown Auburn.
