1970 – 2016

MEXICO — Dean Joseph Watson passed away in Mexico on Saturday, Aug. 20.

He came into the world on Dec. 21, 1970. He and his mom were snowbound at the Rumford Community Hospital because of one of the fiercest weather happenings at that time. No vehicles could be seen travelling so Dean and mom were happy to snuggle in a warm and welcoming place!

Dean came home later to a ready-made family of siblings amounting already to five. Another brother joined the family three years later. Dean was born to parents Rose Marie Boudreau Watson and John Robert Watson. He lost a dear brother, David, in 1984 when he was 13.

Growing up, Dean was an avid swimmer and fisherman at the family cottage at Roxbury Pond. His Uncle Frank was a steady friend for him and his friends, taking trips to exciting places in Maine. Rabbits and cats were also part of his growing years!

Dean was an excellent football player when he attended school. Dean was a painter by trade, getting his experience under his Uncle John Ronan and his sons, Linwood and John, and Bill Goodwin, also of Rumford.

He was a gentle soul and a giant to everyone he met. He took criticism well from those who chose to humiliate him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends!

Dean leaves behind his mother and father? sister, Susan Jane Devine and husband, John III, of South Portland? brothers, Daniel L. Watson and wife, Kara, of Windham, Darren J. Watson and wife, Kathy, of Kennebunkport, Thomas E. Watson of Limerick, and Timothy R. Watson and companion, Michelle Morrison, of Sanford? nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles. May he find peace in the other place he has gone to this 20th day of August 2016!! Love you, Deano!!
