LEWISTON — Tahlia Chamberlain of Androscoggin Literacy Volunteers will be guest speaker at the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club’s meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Ramada Inn.
Chamberlain is a lifelong Mainer and over-the-top fan of her three large dogs and her husband, Norm. Since graduating from the University of Southern Maine in 1985, she has worn many hats as social worker, teacher and program manager. She has had the privilege of working with thousands of people, from tots to teens to disabled adults and college students.
In 1996, she became the first paid employee of Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin and quickly developed a passion for empowering adults through education. Twenty years later, the courage and tenacity of adult students and their volunteer tutors continue to inspire her.
