I am writing to voice my strong support for Kimberly Sampson’s candidacy for District 20 state senator.
Sampson’s unique background in health care and law, along with her passion for service, will make her an articulate advocate for issues that matter to all Maine residents — including improved access to health care and stronger economic and educational opportunities for all.
The current senator, on the other hand, has chosen to focus on issues that promote personal liberty at the expense of community well-being. His sponsorship of a bill allowing the carry of concealed weapons without a permit is a shocking liberalization of gun laws at a time when others are working hard to improve the safety of Maine neighborhoods and communities.
I hope residents of Auburn, Poland, Minot, Mechanic Falls and New Gloucester will join me in voting for Kimberly Sampson in November. She will represent area residents well.
Marian Claxton, Auburn
