NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group will host a First Friday Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main St.

The gallery will display the work of fine artists and artisans living and working in western Maine.

Featured at the Main Street Gallery in September are the paintings of Anthony Morra, Western Maine Art Group’s Artist of the Month. Morra began painting after his mother, artist Pam Morra, convinced him to give it a try six years ago. He started painting by taking weekly oil painting workshops with Auburn artist Michael Ranucci. Morra holds a deep interest in the classic style of traditional oil paintings.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It is free and open to the public.
