PORTLAND — During National Preparedness Month in September, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to help ensure a readily available blood supply for emergencies.

Local donation opportunities include:

Casco: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Point Sebago Resort, 261 Point Sebago Road.

Topsham: Noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at ARC Mid Coast Chapter, 16 Community Way.

Auburn: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Auburn Fire Department, 550 Minot Ave.

Lewiston: 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Bates College, 56 Campus Ave.
