AUBURN — The First Universalist Church of Auburn has awarded its 2016 Rose Window honor to Anne Kinney of Auburn, whose efforts have made a significant impact on the health and vibrancy of the church.

The recipients of this award are models of Unitarian Universalist principles and have made exceptional contributions to their faith community.

At the annual meeting, the congregation presented Kinney the Rose Window Award in recognition of outstanding service to the congregation in keeping with the Unitarian Universalist principles. Kinney has served the congregation since her arrival.

Her service includes:

• Terms on the board as vice president and president;

• Chair of Welcoming Congregation and Denominational Affairs;

• Connection with sister church Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church in Portland;

• Organizing the annual church retreat at Ferry Beach Center; and

• Holding the annual Chili Cook-off to raise scholarship money for the retreat.

Kinney’s commitment to radical welcome, embracing diversity, and strengthening our congregation by deepening our connection to the larger movement has been a constant blessing.
