LISBON — Newly hired Police Chief Marc Hagan will introduce himself to the public later this month in a “meet and greet” organized by town officials.

Hagan, a 25-year veteran of the Brunswick police force, was hired to replace Chief David Brooks, who retired after 42 years on the job.

During his tenure at the Brunswick department, Hagan rose from patrol officer to lieutenant. He’s also an instructor-at-large for community organizations and area merchants, a speaker and liaison for Bowdoin College students and faculty.

Hagan has served on the board of directors for the Mt. Ararat Baseball Program, served as coach for the Topsham Recreation Department softball and baseball programs, served on the board of directors for the Telford Shelter and served as committee member for the Annual Memorial Day Parade.

Lisbon Town Manager Diane Barnes said, “Chief Hagan will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position that will benefit our community and further improve the services provided by the Police Department.”

The meet and greet is planned for 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Lisbon Community School, 33 Mill St.
