FALMOUTH — The American Cancer Society of Maine announces the names of 25 men stepping up for Real Men Wear Pink, a fundraising campaign to fight breast cancer.

This new Real Men Wear Pink effort is part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program, a noncompetitive three- to five-mile walk held in nearly 300 communities nationwide.

Local ambassadors are:

• Justin Pelletier, sports director/news manager, Sun Journal.

• Pete Steenstra, men’s/women’s head rowing coach, Bates College.

• Nick Benoit, principal, Benoit Group.

• Jeff Bennett, breast cancer survivor, honorary chair and Maine Lead Ambassador American Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network.
