1928 – 2016
LEWISTON — Theresa M. Saucier, 88, of Hackett Street, Lewiston, died Thursday, Sept. 8, at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family at her side.
She was born in St. Quintin, New Brunswick, on July 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Victoria (Michaud) Pelletier.
Theresa was a very devoted and faithful member at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, planting flowers, puzzles, reading and cheating at card games. Her true enjoyment was her family; she loved every minute spent with them.
With quiet devotion to her family and faith, Theresa lived with a grace and a humanity which served as an example to those who were blessed to know her. She was kind and thoughtful, quick with a comforting word or a joke. She had an uncanny knack for lifting spirits or eliciting a smile from those around her. To her family, she was an angel sent down to Earth in bodily form. Now she has returned home to a hero’s welcome, but we know she will continue looking out for us and guiding us in our daily lives.
Theresa was a loving and caring mother of six children, and a devoted wife.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Saucier of Lewiston; her five children, Lawrence R. Saucier and wife, Mary, of Ellsworth, Joline Sarrazin and her husband, Roger, of Sabattus, Steve Saucier of Lewiston, Clayton Saucier of Lewiston and Raymond Saucier of Auburn; a brother, Denis Pelletier and wife, Nancy, of Massachusetts. Theresa leaves behind seven grandchildren, Sarah, Russell, Padge, Chantalle, Maria, Tony and Raymond; her seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Bruce, in 1983; and her siblings, Joseph, Firmin, Raymond, Eudore, Lucien, Bertrand, Delia, Yvonne, Maurice and Rose.
