1932 – 2016

RUMFORD — Aime Fournier, 84, of Rumford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 30, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Mexico to Charles and Ernestine (Bolduc) Fournier.

Aime graduated from Mexico High School in the Class of 1950 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou (Duguay), and they had seven children. They shared a loving marriage of 54 years before Mary Lou passed away in 2009.

Aime worked in the Maintenance Department at the Oxford/Boise Paper Mill. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles, and a member and former president of the UPIU Local 900.

Aime enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, playing cribbage and working on many home improvement projects. He was a master hunter before the age of 15 and would often talk about the good ol’ days hunting the mountains of Mexico. He enjoyed playing the guitar and going for rides with Mary Lou.

He is survived by his four daughters, Cynthia Shaw, Donna Frisoli, Janet and (Tim) Curato, Barbara and (Rick) Gallant; his three sons, Norman, Michael and (Lorinda) Fournier, Thomas and (Dianna) Fournier; his brothers­ and sisters-in-law, Maddy Fournier, Beverly (Duguay) Michael Mann, Ronald and Isabel Duguay, Richard and Jean Duguay; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-­grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou; parents, Charles and Ernestine Fournier; brothers, Armand and Edward; and sisters, Armandine, Alice, Rita, Theresa and Shirley.
