SeniorsPlus to be in Fryeburg

FRYEBURG — Representatives from SeniorsPlus will be at the Fryeburg Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, to answer questions and concerns community members may have about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

This event is free.

Retired Educators fall meeting

RANGELEY — The Franklin County Retired Educators will hold its first fall meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the Episcopal Church.

The program will feature presentations by Tom Moore, president of Maine Education Association-Retired, and by Paul Hambeton of the Stand Up for Students referendum question.

There will be a catered lunch and book swap.

All retired teachers, secretaries, educational technicians and other support staff are welcome to attend.

Oxford Historical Society elects officers

OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society held its annual meeting and dinner on Aug. 31 to elect new officers.

New officers elected are Tom Cushman, president; Elton Record, vice president; John Crumpton, treasurer; Patricia Larrivee, secretary; Linda Cushman, Robert Tripp and Mike Quinn, trustees; Sandy Dunn, curator and historian; Terri Dunn, photographer; and Heather Langelier and Marty Mosher, nominating committee.

Tickets for the king-size handmade quilt donated by Sharon Gendreau are still available for a limited time at the Town Office.

The society’s next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28. Pam Brown from the Wilton Museum will present “Interesting People of Wilton” at 6:30 p.m.

Coat Room to warm the Hills 

OXFORD — The Coat Room will be open for the season from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays in Oxford Plaza Mall beginning Sept. 28. 

A program of RightStart in Norway, the Coat Room provides free coats to the community. Family members should come together for one coat, hat, pair of gloves and ski pants per person, based on availability. Applications for coats are not necessary.

Donations of coats of all sizes may be taken to the Coat Closet or to Norway Laundry on Paris Street in Norway.
