First Auburn Seniors to meet

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, for a regular meeting and a fried chicken lunch.

Those attending should bring utensils and a cup. Bingo will follow lunch.

There were 42 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winners were Marilyn Redmun and Don Nason; Pot of Gold, Lucy Cowles, Diane Vincent and Paula Mikkelsen; and 50/50, Lucille Dick, Charlotte Dyer and Marilyn Redmun. 

The Senior Citizens Fair and and Flea Market will be Saturday, Oct. 1. Tables are still available.

Upcoming trips for seniors include a trip to Market Basket on Thursday, Sept. 22; Fryeburg Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 4; and Rangeley foliage on Tuesday, Oct. 11. More information is available by contacting 333-601-2108.

Halloween Costume Swap Oct. 1 

AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will hold a Halloween Costume Swap from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at 49 Spring St.

Costumes can be donated to the library until Friday, Sept. 30. In exchange for each complete, clean, gently worn costume, participants will receive one swap ticket to claim a new-to-you costume at the event.

Once costumes have been entered into the swap, they cannot be returned.

Those who do not have a costume to swap may stop by the event after 2:30 p.m. to purchase any costume for a $5 donation, which will support children’s programming.

Neighborhood watch meeting Sept. 22

AUBURN — A Neighborhood Watch Association meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Mercier home, 125 Victory Road.

The chairperson for the meeting will be Auburn Police Lt. Harrington.

Car show, supper, sock hop

MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150 will hold several events Saturday, Sept. 24, at 41 Elm St.

A car show will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.

A bean supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Cost is $7.

A sock hop will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $5.

Craft day and applesauce-making

LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Falls Church of the Nazarene will hold a craft day with applesauce-making at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, located at 182 Main St. in Lisbon Falls.

Those attending may bring crafts, learn new types of crafting, get help with a project and learn to make applesauce from the apple trees at the church.
