1921 – 2016

LISBON — Cecile M. Brooks, 95, of Lisbon, died Saturday, Sept. 17, surrounded by her loving family at the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Dick.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Medore and Coruana (Nollette) Gagnon. She was educated in local schools. She married Garfield “Cubby” Brooks on Feb. 13, 1942; he predeceased her in 1998.

She was a homemaker who raised five children and later worked for her sister as a waitress at Priscilla’s Diner.

Cecile was a member of the former St. Louis Church and the Pastime Club. She loved playing bingo, sewing, scrapbooking from newspaper clippings, dancing, and most of all she loved spending time with her family at family gatherings. She will be missed for her easy, outgoing personality, her whoopee pies and Sunday meals.

She leaves her five children, Daniel Brooks and wife, Heidi, of Lewiston, Susan Gagnon and companion, Richard Drouinm of Lisbon, Alan Brooks and wife, Katherine, of Auburn, Randy Brooks and wife, Laurie, of Lewiston and Connie Woodbury and husband, Butch, of Greenville; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Priscilla Gagnon and Claudette Gagnon; two brothers, Rene and Jimmy Gagnon; son-in-law, Robert Gagnon; a grandson, George “Brad” Woodbury III; and a step-grandson, Rick Drouin.
