Local jazz guitar legend John Smedley will be joined by bassist Tim Clough and drummer Pete Perfido in a free noontime concert at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St. in Lewiston, this Wednesday from 12:30-1. Perfido, Medley’s long-lost friend and band mate, is in town to perform at Bates College Friday evening with the Bob Degan Trio. Perfido (http://peterperfido.jimdo.com/) has been living and playing jazz in Europe for the past three decades, making this concert a rare treat of accomplished improvisation and music by three seasoned performers. The music will include compositions by Smedley, as well as Thelonius Monk, Scott LaFaro and the team of Palitz, Wilder and Engvick. For more information call 344-3106.
Free jazz at concert at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday
