PORTLAND — Internationally-known physician Patch Adams will present “Living A Life of Joy” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the University of Southern Maine’s Hannaford Hall.

He will discuss being happy, explore the idea of never having a bad day, and choosing to live every day with joy.

Adams has visited more than 80 countries in his career. He believes joy and laughter are an important part of healing. In 1971, he founded the Gesundheit Institute, a nonprofit health care organization based on the belief that one cannot separate the health of the individual from the health of the family, the community, the society and the world.

Tickets for the presentation are $40. Those interested may purchase tickets for the presentation, reception and a book-signing for $75. These tickets include a more intimate setting with Adams, as well as complimentary food, beverages and photos.

Tickets are available www.nehearingandspeech.org/events, by calling 207-874-1065, and in person at Northeast Hearing & Speech, 75 West Commercial St.
