AUBURN — Auburn Adult and Community Education is now taking registrations for fall courses.
A sample of the selection includes:
Know Your Employer Retirement Plan Options: begins Tuesday, Oct. 25. Class will cover options for what to do with money from a previous employer-sponsored plan: pros and cons of taking a lump sum, leaving assets in a plan or moving to another plan, rolling over to a traditional or Roth IRA or receiving annuity payments from a pension.
Well Water Pump And Filtration: begins Monday, Oct. 17. Course will teach attendees how to know if their water is safe for consumption, how often to test their water, and what to test it for. They’ll identify the type of system they have and learn to set and adjust their pressure tank properly.
Ayurveda 101: begins Monday, Oct. 17. Ayurveda focuses on health and wellness, and staying healthy to live a life in balance. Workshop includes lecture, breath work and yoga. Attendees should dress comfortably.
Evolutionary Power: begins Thursday, Oct. 13. GoZone offers prescription-targeted workout technology. This series will build strength, increase muscle definition, decrease body fat and burn calories through a workout.
Weight Wars: begins Tuesday, Oct. 11. This series will provide tools in all areas by introducing unique health foods, recipes and eating strategies.
Zumba At Sherwood Heights School: begins Tuesday, Oct. 4. Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class. A certified instructor will lead attendees through one hour of mixed impact dance, combined with toning movements for a full-body workout.
Beginner Knitting: begins Thursday, Oct. 13. Casting stitches on needles, knitting, purling and casting off are the basics of any knitting project. Attendees will use these four skills to create a wearable straight or mobias scarf.
Crochet Basic: begins Thursday, Oct. 6. Attendees can learn the basic crochet stitches as they crochet a simple scarf or washcloth. No experience is needed.
CNA-Medication Technician course: Those interested must have one year of CNA experience to take this course. Those interested should call Auburn Adult Education to register and schedule a reading assessment.
