WEST PARIS — The Board of Selectmen voted Thursday evening to apply for a Department of Environmental Protection permit to maintain the Moose Pond boat ramp off Route 219.

Town Manager Wade Rainey said a lot of sand has built up at the end of the ramp.

“We’re going to need to take that sand out at some point, and we need a permit to do it,” he said. “We won’t know who’s going to do the work until we get the permit.”

In other business, Rainey said resident Isaac McNutt has built and installed a sign for the Town Hall as part of a Boy Scout project.

“He just came in and erected the sign in front of the building,” Rainey said. “It looks really nice. He completed the project in order to get a badge for his Boy Scout troop.”

Rainey said McNutt’s brother, Nate, is raising money to install a black chain-link fence at a cemetery on Ellingwood Road to earn his Eagle Scout badge.
