FARMINGTON — Adria “Dee” Keneagy, SugarWood Gallery’s Artist of the Month, will be feted at a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.

The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.

“Gallery curators tend to favor a “body of work” from their exhibitors, which basically means a cohesive series of paintings in either a particular style and/or on a specific theme,” Keneagy said. “It’s something I seem to be inherently unable to produce though I’ve been at it for some 20 years.

“I don’t know why; whether it’s a lack of focus, or discipline, a rebellious nature, or I just haven’t found my ‘voice’ yet, in which case I better get on with it,” she said. “The problem stems from my instant seduction by every style, medium and palette that I encounter, and I immediately want to delve in and try them all out. “

Keneagy said her exhibit at SugarWood Gallery “is a melange of my experimentation since I last showed there a few years ago.” It encompasses watercolor, acrylics, pastels, ink, monotypes and collages in all of them, from abstract to representational.

SugarWood Gallery is at 248 Broadway in Farmington. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
