1921 – 2016

AUBURN — Fernande M. Landry Hamann, 95, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility where she resided for the past six years.

Born in Lewiston on March 18, 1921, a daughter of Adelard and Alice Bergeron Landry, she attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Ecole Superior. She was married to Louis Philip Hamann, who died July 24, 2012.

Fernande was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality. She worked for Le Messager, Clark Shoe, Marcotte Furniture and Androscoggin Bank. She enjoyed camping at OOB, playing cards, gardening and spending time with family. Mom will be remembered for her pretty smile and love of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Kitchen and husband Robert, of Rhode Island, Aline Mailhot and husband, Richard, of Lewiston; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Juliette Bannister, Jeanne Lessard, Pauline Cashman and husband, John.

She was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Mariette; four sisters and eight brothers.

The family wishes to thank Dr. James Joseph and the staff at Clover Health Care for taking such good care of our Mother.
