RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian burial with military honors for LTC Joseph S. Morin, CRNA, of Rumford was celebrated Saturday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m. at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church, with the Rev. Alfred Jacques as celebrant. Altar assistant was Bernard Poirier. Organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections sung by the choir included “Precious Lord,” “Fly Like a Bird,” “Veni Jesu,” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” A reading from the Old Testament from Ecclesiastes 3: 1-14 was proclaimed by Charles LeDuc and a reading from the New Testament from Revelation 22: 1-7 was proclaimed by Ellie LeDuc. The eulogy was given by a friend, Ron Theriault. The gifts were presented by his grandchildren, Katie, Nicole and Dale Morin. The Gospel from Matthew 6: 19-23 was proclaimed by the Rev. Alfred Jacques. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Jason, Matthew and Ryan Clohosey, Lily and Ali Morin and Kayla McGee. Military honors were conducted by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta. A reception followed the Mass in the parish hall of the church and was served by St. Timothy Circle, Daughters of Isabella. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
