LEWISTON — A Liturgy of the Word service honoring Donald L. Turgeon was celebrated by Deacon Irenee Richard, OP, on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home.

During the service, guitarists Larissa and Chuck Smith sang the songs, “Tears in Heaven” and “Only Imagine.” Sister Monique Belanger, OP, sang and played on the keyboard “Amazing Grace.” Donald’s favorite song, “Shine on You Crazy Diamond ” by Pink Floyd was played in Don’s honor to conclude services.

Committal prayers were then held Friday, Sept. 30, at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Augusta concluding with the U.S. Air Force honor guard playing “taps” and presenting our country’s flag to Don’s wife, Kathy, in appreciation of her husband’s service to his country during the Vietnam Conflict.
