One of the keys to truly representing a community is being actively involved in the community. One could say that Jim Handy hasn’t just decided to get involved in the community because it is an election year — he has been involved in his community for many years.
Everyone knows that Lewiston schools are better because of Handy’s service on the School Board. People may not know that he has also been chairman of the board of Healthy Androscoggin; chairman of the board of Androscoggin Head Start; and the former executive director of L/A Arts. He is currently active with Literacy Volunteers Androscoggin and the LHS Performing Arts Boosters.
As the state Representative of this district for eight years, I couldn’t be happier or prouder to support Jim Handy. I know Lewiston will be in good hands with Handy’s leadership in the Maine House.
Rep. Michel Lajoie, Lewiston
