Golden Age Club to meet

AUBURN — The IHM Golden Age Club will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Sacred Heart Church.

Social hour will be from 11 a.m. to noon, lunch from noon to 1 p.m., and the meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. 2017 officers will be elected.

New members and guests are welcome.

Reservations must be made by Sunday, Oct. 9, for the harvest dinner with homemade desserts.  Cost is $6  per person. To reserve, call 207-576-4082.

Harvest Reception & Tasting

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Education Fund board of directors has announced the seventh annual Harvest Reception & Tasting will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Fish Bones American Grill, 70 Lincoln St.

The event will feature a five-course dinner, including a beverage. There will be door prizes and a silent auction. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a cash bar and to socialize.

The event raises money for the Lewiston Education Fund, which provides miniature grants for teachers in Lewiston schools and supports ongoing efforts to fund the endowment to support the organization in the future.

Tickets are $75 per person. A limited number of group tables are available to reserve.

Robin Dow Seniors to meet Oct. 12

AUBURN — Thirty members of Robin Dow Senior Citizens met Sept. 28.

Attendance winners were Bea Brooks and Charlote Dyer; red tickets, Bob Lavertu, Nancy Duprey and Bruce Macomber; white tickets, Mary Tassinari, Irene Ledoux and Roy Tassinari; blue tickets, Bea Brooks, Diane Vincent and Pat Donohue.

Tickets are being sold for the Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for $10. Halloween luncheon tickets are $5.

The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct.12, following the 10:45 a.m. board meeting.

New members are welcome.

Daughters of American Revolution to meet Oct. 12

AUBURN — The Mary Dillingham-Burnt Meadow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant.

Lew Alessio will speak on “Ephemera.”

Prospective members are welcome.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston City Democratic Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Lewiston Armory.

Those attending should enter through the “CC” doors to the right.

Lisbon Rec to take Alaska tour

LISBON FALLS — There will be an informational meeting about an Alaskan land tour and sea cruise set for July 2017.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Room 10 of the MTM Community Center, 18 School St. Discussed will be itinerary, costs and airfare.

This trip begins in Fairbanks, Alaska, July 22, 2017, goes to Denali National Park and on to Whittier, Alaska, by train. Attendees will board the Island Princess cruise ship in Whittier to Vancouver, ending Aug. 2.
