BUCKFIELD — The Zadoc Long Free Library has announced its October programming for children and families.
Children’s Story Time Fall Session: 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Oct. 11 to Nov. 8. For parents and children ages 3 to 13, Story Time includes a sharing time, gardening in the new raised-bed garden boxes, stories read aloud and crafts. Registration is required; the program is offered on a first-come, first-registered basis for residents of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner as space is limited. Residents from other towns may be placed on a wait list in the event spaces become available.
Fun with Words and Songs with Baby!: 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, Oct. 15 to Nov. 5. For parents and babies ages 18 to 30 months old, this program includes songs, dancing and stories to enhance early-childhood literacy. Registration is required; the program is offered on a first-come, first-registered basis for residents of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner as space is limited. Residents from other towns may be placed on a wait list in the event spaces become available.
Show Hans Solo and Us Earthlings Your Costume!: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. For parents with children ages 1 to 12 living in Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner, this special children’s Story Time event will welcome Hans Solo, who will visit from his “galaxy, far, far away.” At noon, costumed participants will form a circle around Buckfield’s “space station,” also known as the library. Treats will be available. Registration is required by Oct. 22.
