He was a former member of the Hosmer-Edwards American Legion Post in Wilton, the Wilton Wanderers Snowmobile Club, and the Friends of Wilson Lake.

He is loved by his wife of 68 years, Julienne, of Jay; their children, Brenda Robinson and her husband, Steven, of Rio Vista, Calif..; Shirlene Ring and her husband, Robert, of The Villages, Fla. and Kathleen Pike and her husband, Joel, of Jay; nine grandchildren, Sarah Harris, Kristy (Ring) Hall and husband, Matt, Julie Harris-Wai and husband, Conrad Wai, Amanda (Ring) Milochik and her husband, Michael, Rachel Pike, Hallie Pike, Chandler Pike, Cecilia Pike, and Samuel Pike; three great-grandchildren, Murphy Hall, Elijah Hall and Otis Harris-Wai; two sisters, Thelma Storer and her husband, Joseph, of Wilton and Maxine Collins of Wilton; and several nieces and nephews.
