1952 – 2016

LEWISTON — Richard L. Bussiere, of Auburn, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 9, at the age of 63 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston with family by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary (Powers) Bussiere; two sons, Jeremy and his wife, Athena, of Turner and Corey and his wife, Catherine, of Dixfield; one daughter, Melanie (Bussiere) Vincent and her husband, Brian, of Minot; three grandchildren, Harley Bussiere, Joseph Bussiere and Celeste Vincent; four brothers, Robert Bussiere Sr. and his wife, Anita, of Leeds, Raymond Bussiere and his wife, Connie, of New Jersey, Roger Bussiere of Auburn, Nelson Bussiere and his wife, Deborah, of Hebron; two sisters, Patty-Jean (Bussiere) Carbonneau of Danville, Mona (Bussiere) Turgeon and her husband, Robert, of Florida; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard, more commonly known as Dick or Dicky to family and friends, was recently retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the North Atlantic Blues Festival and motorcycle riding. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed his trips up to camp with his brothers and was always there helping family and friends.

He was born Nov. 8, 1952. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1972, and played more than 20 years with the Contractors Hockey League. He was an avid fan of the Bruins, Red Sox and the Patriots.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter Bussiere and his wife, Theresa (Couillard) Bussiere.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
