WALES — A discussion of the Regional School Unit 4 funding formula is scheduled for Monday, according to Superintendent Jim Hodgkin.

It was announced at Wednesday night’s school board meeting, he said.

The committee studying the formula will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Wales Town Office. Hodgkin said town managers, elected officials and board members from Litchfield, Sabattus and Wales will talk about the formula and possible changes.

The public is invited to attend.

Also Wednesday, the board discussed the state’s recent decision to begin accepting applications for money to build a new high school. According to Hodgkin, Oak Hill High School was built in 1976. He said it can take 15 to 20 years from the time an application is submitted to actual construction.

The next board meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Oak Hill High School. The board will vote then on whether to submit an application, Hodgkin said.
