RUMFORD — Among the calls answered by the Police Department recently were:

• Oct. 9, 12:21 p.m.: Report of a shoplifter at a Waldo Street business. Sgt. James Bernard responded and summonsed John Lebel, 49, Rumford for theft. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 12.

• Oct. 8, 7:14 p.m.: Amber Ladd, 31, Rumford was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and disorderly conduct on Waldo Street. She was released on $800 unsecured bail and is to appear in court Nov. 14.

• Oct. 6, 7:45 a.m.: Report of a tractor-trailer off the roadway between Rumford Center and Rumford Point. Cpl. Lawrence Winson responded and arrested Jeremy Ladd, 35, of Stewartstown, New Hampshire, on charges of operating under the influence and three counts of unlawful possession of drugs. Ladd was transported to the Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Oct. 5, 6:35 p.m.: A Waldo Street resident reported the theft of her iPhone on Hancock Street. Patrolman Matthew Desroches is investigating.

• Oct. 5, 2:42 p.m.: Norman Alleano, 21, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of failure to appear. He was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

• Oct. 4, 4:36 p.m.: Report of a shoplifter on Waldo Street. Ptl Lawrence Briggs responded and summonsed Kristie Teague, 25, Mexico for theft. Court date is Nov 14.

• Oct. 4, 1:57 p.m.: Report of subjects actively fighting on Congress Street. Officers responded. Crystal Austin, 27, Rumford was summonsed for assault. Court date of Nov 14.

• Oct. 3, 6:47 p.m.: Chad Ramsey, 31, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of a crime or injury. He was released on $800 unsecured bail and is to appear in court Nov. 14. 

• Oct. 3, 6:44 p.m.: Officers responded to a reported disturbance on Kennebec Street. Adam Downs, 35, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and transported to the Oxford County Jail.
