LEWISTON — The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council is planning a trip down memory lane with a free musical event highlighting facts and positive aspects of the city.

Accompanied by 1920- to 2000s-era music, dance, food and clothing, it will be staged from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.

“We feel that this will be a great educational evening about not only Lewiston’s history but era musical history as well,” LYAC Chairman Jazy Dumas said.

Interested musicians, historians, collectors and dancers are invited to a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the third floor conference room at Lewiston City Hall, 27 Pine St.

At the Dec. 3 event there will be a slide show of facts about the city, a timeline for attendees to place a pine on their favorite era or when they were born in Lewiston.

Poster and memorabilia displays will highlight 1920 through present day, and attendees are welcome — but not required — to dress in a particular era’s fashion.

LYAC members will speak about the city, and music, videos, and vocal/dance presentations will also be on tap.

LYAC was established by the Lewiston City Council in 2001 and is funded by the Lewiston Firefighters Association.  For more info on LYAC, visit:  www.lewistonmaine.gov/lyac
