DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are looking for bridge players! I’m teaching a class at Bates titled Games, Mathematics and Life. One of the final projects for our students involves learning and teaching bridge, and forming teams with community members. Anyone out there interested in working with Bates students for about five weeks (end of October through the first week of December) to play (or even learn) bridge? Some, if not all, of the play can be online with a few face-to-face meetings. Let me know if you’re “game.” Contact me at [email protected]. — Bonnie Shulman, Lewiston.

ANSWER: It can be so frustrating to start a project then find that the store no longer carries the yarn that you need. If anyone has this yarn and is able to part with it, please think about contacting B.R.

This brand is carried by both Jo-Ann Fabric and Wal-Mart, so another option to try is to check whether it can be ordered. This particular yarn is available online from Wal-Mart and may be in the store already. If it is not on the shelf, an associate should be able to help you order it for pickup in the store.
