NORWAY — A free talk, The Healing Power of Stillness, will be given by Christian Science healer Larissa Snorek-Yates at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in the Masonic Hall, 9 Temple St.

The hall is handicapped-accessible, and child care will be available.

Snorek-Yates will tell how it is possible to discover a stillness, even in the midst of busy and sometimes anxious times, that brings rest and healing to our everyday lives. She will give examples of how the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy have brought lasting peace and complete healing to individual lives.

Snorek-Yates’s work has given her opportunities to look for and find stillness in a variety of stressful situations including small claims court mediation and human rights advocacy. She taught graduate students at the World Learning Institute, where she received her master’s degree in sustainability and peacebuilding. In these situations, she could see how relevant the ideas of Christian Science were to the difficulties facing the world today, and that naturally led to her becoming a full-time, publically-listed practitioner of Christian Science healing. She is on the international Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
