ELLSWORTH — Schools in town are closed while police search for a suspect in a nearby shooting.
Police said officers responded to a report of a person shooting at a vehicle with several people inside. No one was hurt but the rear window was shattered.
Police were searching Monday for 41-year-old Aaron Wagner of Ellsworth, who’s facing charges of reckless conduct with a firearm and aggravated criminal mischief.
The superintendent of Ellsworth schools said the closure was a matter of public safety even though there’s no threat to schools. University College at Ellsworth is also closed.
