Author to speak on World War II
HEBRON — The next Hebron Historical Society meeting will feature author Walt Bannon speaking on his mother’s resistance in Belgium during World War II. He will detail the story with the highlights from his book “The White Pocketbook.”
The event will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Town Office, 351 Paris Road. The public is invited.

Women’s Auxiliary seeks vendors
GRAY — The Post 86 Women’s Auxiliary, American Legion, will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at 15 Lewiston Road.
Proceeds benefit veterans and their families.

Wreath-making at Beaver Park
LISBON — Lisbon Parks and Recreation will offer a wreath-making workshop with Verla at Beaver Park, 37 Cotton Road.
The classes will be held on Tuesdays, Nov. 15 and 29, and Fridays, Nov. 18 and Dec. 2.
The cost is $20, which includes materials such as pine cones, ornaments, decorations and natural materials.
Registration is required. The department suggests those interested sign up as soon as possible because classes fill quickly.

Bridge club lists winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on Oct. 17 were, first, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; second, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; third, Judy Abromson and Rosemarie Goodwin; and fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Mike Quinn.
Winners of the annual ACBL club appreciation pairs on Oct. 18 were, first, Neenie Kivus and Patricia Quinn; second, Richard Balian and Paul Clement; and third Cindy and Bob Kirchherr.
Games are played at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcome.
