1931 – 2016
BANGOR — Donald J. Albert, 85, of Plymouth Avenue in Rumford, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, at the home of his niece, Linda Colburn, in Bangor, surrounded by his nephews, Charles Murphy and Patrick Murphy.
He was born in Rumford on Sept. 14, 1931, a son of Vila R. and Annie (Chenard) Albert.
Don was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1950. He was also a graduate of Bentley College.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Don was employed for 32 years with Central Maine Power Co.
Don loved bathing in the sun, traveling and visiting with his friends each day at McDonald’s.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Lillian Murphy and Theresa Legere; and brother, Raymond Albert.
