LISBON FALLS — Sunshine Hill Neighbors Seniors is offering a nine-day trip to Mackinac Island in Michigan from June 10 to 18, 2017, during the island’s Lilac Festival.
The trip will leave from the MTM Center in Lisbon Falls and stop at Niagara Falls State Park in New York along the way. Attendees will travel to northern Michigan, where they will stay for four nights. They will visit and spend free time in Sault Sainte Marie and take a cruise through the Soo Locks.
One of the highlights of the trip will be a ferry ride to Mackinac Island, where cars are not allowed. Participants will take a leisurely tour of the island by horse and carriage, and there will be free time to explore the island.
Other points include visiting Fort de Buade Museum, the village of St. Ignace, a guided tour of Mackinaw City, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and a visit to Michilimackinac.
On the return, attendees will visit Frankenmuth, dubbed Michigan’s little Bavaria, and the Woodstock Museum in Saugerties, New York.
The cost of the trip is $769 per person for double occupancy or $1,029 for single. Included are 14 meals, eight breakfasts, six dinners and all of the tours and tips for the bus driver and tour guides.
A $75 deposit is required to hold a spot. This trip is open to all ages.
