1934 – 2016

LEWISTON — Liane A. Asselin, 82, a resident of Stevens Street in Lewiston, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, at her home, surrounded by family members.

She was born in Lewiston on July 3, 1934, the daughter of Laurence and Ameda (Paquette) Lessard. Liane loved to cook for her family and care for her flower garden. She was also an avid animal lover. More than anything, she took great pride in her four grandchildren.

Liane and her late husband, Eddie, spent two years in California, where she worked as a waitress, before returning to Lewiston to raise their two children. She worked as a salesperson for Electrolux and Fuller Brush. After retirement, she spent her summer weekends selling goods at the Riverside Flea Market in Lisbon, where she enjoyed being among friends.

Survivors include her son, Lynn Asselin and wife, Silvia, of Lewiston; daughter, Kim Asselin Gee, of Merrimack, N.H.; brother, Gerald (Jerry) Lessard and Diane Dubois, both of Lewiston; sister, Claudette Clark and husband, David, of Lewiston; grandchildren, Lynn Asselin II, Heather, Hayley and Tyler Gee; and niece, Rochelle Clark.

She was predeceased by her husband, Adrien “Eddie” Asselin; and her two brothers, Laurence and Donald Lessard.
