LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its November programming.

All morning programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

Cooking Matters, Pop Up Grocery Tour: Tuesday, Nov. 1. This is a free presentation about expanding food budgets, unit pricing and affordable healthy food. Participants completing the presentation will receive a $10 gift card to a local food supermarket, a tote bag and recipes.

Spa Day Give Away: Wednesday, Nov. 2. Trivia games will be played. Prizes are perfumes, soaps and makeup.

Crafting: Thursday, Nov. 3, Wednesday, Nov. 16, and Tuesday, Nov. 22. Attendees will make holiday crafts.

Soul Collages: Tuesdays, Nov. 8 and 15. Attendees can join a group and create collages that express their soul, beauty and inner voices.

Peasant Pantry Café: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. The Peasant Pantry Café features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish is Algonquin Three Sisters Vegetables, served with wild rice. The meal is open to the public at no charge, and donations are welcome.

Makeup Classes: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. Women from Cassiel’s will share how to apply makeup, cover imperfections and learn about healthy skin care on a budget.

Turkey Day Portion Education: Thursday, Nov. 17. Nursing students will provide education about portion control during the holiday meal.

Post-Thanksgiving Potluck: Monday, Nov. 28. Attendees can bring a dish to share or help make something at the Center.

Bingo: Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Art Van: Wednesday, Nov. 30.

November Birthday Celebration: noon Wednesday, Nov. 30. November birthdays will be celebrated.

Clothing giveaway: Wednesday, Nov. 23. The Center will hold a clothing giveaway during a daylong event.

The center will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day, and Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, for Thanksgiving. All women are welcome; programs are offered free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily, and the center has a shower.

The center is also seeking volunteer applicants for companions. The companion role requires women to have a professional background in social work, teaching, nursing, chaplaincy or other related fields, and companions work with local women. The commitment is a half-day weekly. Those interested should contact 207-513-3922.
