LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted Tuesday night to accept Androscoggin Savings Bank’s proposal for a tax-anticipation note and a loan for a new truck and plow.

Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said the note, which pays operating expenses while waiting for property taxes to be paid, has a 2.93 percent interest rate and must be repaid by June 30.

Byron sent requests to Androscoggin Savings Bank, Camden National Bank, Machias Savings Bank and Franklin Savings Bank.

“Androscoggin was the only one to submit a proposal,” she said.

The board also approved a $62,000 loan at 2.71 percent interest from Androscoggin Savings Bank. The 5-year loan for a truck and plow will require one payment per year.

The equipment purchase was approved last month. The truck, which will be purchased from Rowe Ford in Auburn, comes with a pump for the plow and a 9-foot galvanized body. The plow will be purchased from HP Fairfield in Skowhegan.

The board also approved adding Mike Maxwell of Canton to the list of part-time plow truck drivers. He has over 30 years of experience working for the state.

In other business, Byron said the Fire Department received a $4,615 grant to purchase 13 rappelling kits, which can be thrown out a window for the firefighter to climb down, she said.
