DEAR SUN SPOTS: What ever happened to Natalie Morales and Willie Geist? They never came back to the “Today” show on NBC after covering the Olympics in Brazil. Just wondering.— No name, Peru.
ANSWER: According to the “Today” show’s website, today.com, Natalie Morales left the show to join “Access Hollywood Live” in Los Angeles. Willie Geist was hosting multiple shows and announced that he would be stepping back from “Today” in August. Billy Bush replaced him for a short time until Bush was “suspended indefinitely” and later fired from NBC. Geist is currently the host of NBC’s “Sunday Today” and co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” No announcement has been made about who will be replacing Bush, but Geist has since appeared on the “Today” show, including on Halloween when he was dressed as John Travolta from the movie “Pulp Fiction.”
