LEWISTON — Renne Rudolph McKeen, 91, of Mechanic Falls, husband of Laurel (Mortimer) McKeen, died Monday, Oct. 31, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Renne was born on July 11, 1925, in West Paris, son of Renne and Saara (Pikkarainen) Mikkonen. He moved to Mechanic Falls after his marriage and built his family’s home there. Renne served in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a torpedo man’s mate in the Pacific theater from 1943-46 and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation (2 Stars), and the Asiatic Pacific Theater (3 Stars).

He worked as an electrician until his retirement in 1990, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Renne belonged to Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine.

In addition to his wife, Laurel, Renne is survived by four sons, Stephen, Michael, Peter and Timothy; one daughter, Gayle; three grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel and Chassie; and two great-grandchildren, Malikal and Kierra.
